American Desi in New Zealand

Just some guy studying abroad posting a blog so he doesn't have to repeat himself when he returns to his friends, even though that's probably what will happen. No one ever really listens in this day and age anyways. I know I sure as hell don't. :p

Still alive.

In case anyone cares.

Maybe my last post ever.

I'm leaving tomorrow for a long trip. I'm going to Christchurch, Arthur's Pass National Park, Nelson, Abel Tasman National Park, Fox Glacier, Queenstown, Milford Sound, then back.

And then I'm going to Australia. Brisbane and Sydney. I would love to see the Gold Coast or the Blue Mountains and downtown Sydney is going to be sick; I know it.

The South Island trip will be more intense, because of the hiking, but Australia will be sick too.

I didn't get to go to Mt. Doom or Waitomo last weekend, so I've been blazed for 9 days.

Make that 10 days.

Just another uneventful update.

I went canyoning on Sunday. What is canyoning, you ask? It's difficult to explain, but involves jumping down a lot of waterfalls, and abseiling down the ones too high up to drop off of. There are pictures at the usual site.

I'm growing my hair out - I haven't cut it since before coming to New Zealand and I don't think I'm planning on cutting it out here. Right now it's just an uneventful mess, because I don't really know what to do with long hair. Hopefully I can get a fro out of it - that would be sweet.

Either hiking the Tongariro Crossing and Mt. Ngauruhope, or going blackwater rafting at Waitomo this coming weekend. Depends on the weather and the wills of those who can rent a car (have to be 21... grr). Even if its cloudy, I want to go to Mt. Doom and reflect on the ocean of clouds that will be below me. Yeah, that would rock.

In other news, Tom Forde's bar is awesome and I still don't have my ATM card.
